because nowadays you can't ever update when you want unless you're a gold member. and see i was a gold member for a year, i didn't mind it because you got some bonus things and whatnot. you didn't become a gold member just so you could update when you wanted. and my beef with having been a goldmember was that when it was up i was never notified, just suddenly one day *poof* it was gone. i distinctly remember when he started the gold memberships that he said he'd inform everyone when their time was almost up. well he sure didn't do that for the first batch of gold members, and you'd think that out of any those were the ones he wanted to keep the most because i know a lot of us were the 'old school' dlanders and had been around for a while and you don't want to disenfranchise your user base that's already been around for longer than 2 days.

like yesterday, for the photo entry, i had to basically keep spamming the server with 'refreshes' just to get it to load. and i mean this was at like 10 am EST, which is when no one is up and yet the servers are overloaded? what the fucking hell, something's very wrong with the db code or something because that should only be happening at 7-9pm at night, not that early in the morning. it's almost enough to make a person update their other website more often. cause at least there i know i can update whenever i want to and not have to worry about the servers being "busy"

also, honestly the rain can fucking go away. we've had a total of 5 rain-free weekends this entire fucking year. and it's raining again today. i mean i'm all for rain every so often. but sweet mother of fucking perl this is ridiculous.
