"sara's place - monday" @ 06.09.03
- sara's part 5 -

i woke up monday refreshed since i had gotten my first uninterrupted sleep the entire time i was there. usually before it was becausei had weird dreams, sara's twitching woke me up, or a combo of the two with a splash of 'couldn't sleep' mixed in with it.

either way i woke up and wasn't starving for once so i stayed quiet and got some more sleep since it was only maybe 8 or so. after re-waking up at 10 or 11 i finally decided that sara was still asleep and i was now substantially hungry so i hollered at sara to wake up and took my shower.

after we had both gotten clean we headed to the car and went off. now usually i asked a lot of questions of where we were going, but i didn't this time. i wanted to be suprised with where we were going so i stayed quiet most of the ride and checked out the passing sights.

it was interesting because we sure were headed in a different direction than before. we went next to some river-walk-ish thing, went by a mall, went by the denver aboretium and finally ended up turning into a tiny parking lot behind an even tinier restaurant.

as we were getting out i figured this had to be the place and turns out it was pete's [i think it's pete's something but i forget what that something is] either way sara had talked about it before and so i was kinda excited to eat, mostly cause it reminded me a lot of paynes [which is still the best breakfast for 5 bucks, ever] so i took a look at the menu tryingto figure out if they had a combo of some eggs, ham and hashbrowns. but no, that's a no-go. eventually the waitress came back with our drinks and asked if we knew what we wanted, i hesistated because well, i wasn't sure!

sara was and told her that we were ready, and she proceeded to order two breakfast burritos [i think that's what they were] now i had looked at them and they didn't seem bad, just..not my normal cup of tea because while i like eggs, ham and cheese, i don't necessarily want potatoes in the thing too. plus it had some odd sauce ontop of it, but sara assured me it was good. i gave in because i could tell i wouldn't win, nor did i really care that much and waited for the food. when it came out it was...brown. and i was afraid to eat it cause well, it didn't look none too appealing.

but i took a bite out of it and like sara said it was pretty damned good. a bit filling, but good nonetheless. it was just nice to be able to sit down and enjoy some more time with sara, we had almost nothing planned today [except going out with man 'n john] so we were in no hurry to get anywhere and took our time finishing. though really i still ate my food as fast as always and every so often mooched off sara's fries.

after we finished lunch sara headed to the mall to look for some sort of present for john since it was his birthday today [and our anniversary which i had forgotten about since every day seemed to blend into each other and i forgot what the date was. really i had no reason i should've forgot but i did, and i apologized muchly after sara said something to me about it.] we took maybe 4 steps inside this mall, specifically into the ebx and couldn't figure out what to get john and sara got annoyed so we ended up leaving and heading home. though on the way home man called sara back and gave her an idea for something to buy john, the 20th anniversary edition of trivial pursuit so we stopped into target and picked it up [man it's handy having a super targ right next to your house].

as we're heading out to the car we see a lady in the other side of our parking "lane" bringing a little puppy back to her car and of course this kicks in super-puppy-love-mode on sara who becomes insistant on getting a puppy right now because "isn't he cute!" i told her that yes, he was very cute but she couldn't get one now cause it wouldn't be fair to the puppy to keep him cooped up in her apartment all day long. you need to have some sort of a yard to let him run around in. after that she kept telling me i wasn't going to ever let her have a puppy, which is crap cause i so want a dog when we get a house, but i don't wanna keep one in an apartment cause that's just not fun.

either way we got home at around 2 or so with nothing to do until 6:30 so sara popped in ameli and tried to watch it again. only to fall asleep again after maybe 20 minutes so i turned it off and told her to take a nap. she wanted me to lay with her so i did for a while, but eventually i realized if i kept trying to sleep i'd get a stomach ache [yea i'm weird like that, bite me] and my arm was also falling alseep from being in a weird position.

realizing that and the fact that it waas gorgeous outside i went down to sara's car, took out a few of the books we got from her grandparents house and went outside to read 'em. one of them was all about how the us' historical monuments are so wrong and it was pretty interesting, especially reading about the messed up ones in the dc area.

as i'm sitting outside reading wendy comes home from somewhere and i let her in and tell her that sara's sleeping so she goes to her room and does something and i go back outside. not more than 5 minutes later does sara wake up and she and wendy start talking about things. i wasn't really paying attention cause i didn't care that much, and didn't want to pry.

what i did know is that a few minutes later sara's telling me we're going to go out to some bar for a few drinks with wendy and keith [wendy's current boy]. ths seems odd to me because it's already 4:30 or so and we have to get dressed and drive all the way over to amanda's still, so i'm not exactly sure why we're headed to some bar with the two of them since it'll be a drink and then "peace we out", but hey, i'm just here for the ride.

we get to the place and it's packed, mostly with bikers but packed nonetheless. somehow sara and i managed to find a table with 4 chairs and sat down waiting for wendy. now i normally drink my miller-lite aand like it, but the guy said they had some sort of happy hour specials on their own microbrew so i figured what the hell i'll go for it. i probably shouldn't have. it was a wheat-beer and so was pretty heavy, and i wasn't too enthralled with the taste but oh well i'm not about to waste alochol.

sure enough after wendy and ketih got there sara and i pretty much had to down our drinks in order to get home since it was already 5:30 and the drive back to the apt took 15-20 minutes, then the drive to amanda's was another 15-20 minutes, plus time to change. basically we were screwed. that and we now had to take a shower because we reeked of smoke since we were at the bar [something i didn't necessarily agree with because we had been outside and there reallly weren't that many people smoking. usually if it's really bad i can smell it on my clothes as soon as i get home, but i couldn't this time. but either way i was ordered to shower]

so i showered and become all clean, again, then sara hopped in and while she was showering i called man to tell her we might be late. of course she had no problem with that because we had made our reservation at La Fondu for 8.

anyway i have to get to class and i figure this is as good a point as any to split up the entry so i can remember all my thoughts about dinner and the happenings there.
