"out of sight, out of mind" @ 05.02.03
i learned something very disturbing today. a pretty good friend of mine has tested positive with HIV and has been in the hospital for a few days.

when my other friend told me this at work today i was suprised. mostly because i've never known anyone personally to get the disease. then later-on she told me that he hasn't told anyone and that now almost everyone we knew at work has to get tested. i asked her why? of course i forgot the fact that he slept with pretty much everyone we worked with, or there was so much sleeping around going on between servers that almost everyone slept with everyone else. for once it made me glad i never got a lot of action from my fellow servers.

then another server who had been listening in or trying to listen in asked who was safe here? i thought a lot were, then i forgot that he had indeed gotten it on with a lot of people here and they of course did the same as logans, lots of inter-sleeping around.

so now said person who told me, who was his roomate at one time, has to basically tell everyone. she also informed me that he asked to move back in with her and her family when she's already packed up his stuff since he hasn't actually be in her house in many many months. what should be interesting is the simple fact that almost everyone we work with has to be tested. sure he could've gotten it after he slept with them, but you never know. i personally would just be freaked out because while i haven't slept with any of those people, i'd still worry just because. however i did just get tested a few weeks ago so i know i have nothing to worry about, but man. i'm so, so, so very glad i didn't get a lot of action for once.

but again it's weird for me because this is the first time this has ever hit so close to home. before it's always been someone else, somewhere else, out of sight out of mind so to speak.
