see i hadn't planned on going because i didn't know about it until i was flipping channels tuesday night and conan came on so i looked at the info for the show and saw bdb was the musical guest. so i stuck around and watched him [and he was good as usual] but right before he came on conan said he was kicking off his american tour here in dc and then i thought. hmm i have 15 bucks, i think i'll go, since i've had a copy of the new album for a while now, and it's awesome, even better than 'hour of the bewilder beast'.

i got out of class at about 5 or so and i had read the show was supposed to be 'early' so i head to coconuts and buy a ticket for the show. only afterwards do i realize i don't have enough hard cash to cover the parking behind the club so i freak and try to find a way to get some cash from the credit-card. i know i had done it once before at giant so i head over there and buy something tiny and try to do it..but it's a no-go. the stupid lady didn't let me do it, though i'm sure one did once by just typing in 'cash' and the amount.

so i said fuck it and decided to start the drive up to dc since it was already 5:30 and the doors opened at 6:30 since it was an 'early' show. well early show my ass. i ended up getting there at about 6:45, the opening act didn't come on until 8 or so. how was the opening act you ask? sweet jesus was the kid [adam greene] high as a kite, and half his songs had 'cum' in them in some manner ['cum stained lips', 'my sticky cum', etc] but he was amusing to say the least.

how was bdb? awesome. i'm so glad he played a lot of the stuff off the new album [nov 5th (and get it it's awesome i have an early copy and it's amazing)] because it was so fun. though i could tell no one else had heard it yet so they weren't totally into it, but trust me. if you like good music and he comes around your town, go. right at the end he was like "well we'll take a 5 minute break, and then play for another hour" and i think he really did want to since it was the first stop on the tour and they were really starting to get into it. so were the crowd, but that could've been because of the beer as i noticed 3 drunken backstage betties come up next to me by the end of the show.

the only downside was that i called my sister and told her who i waas seeing and she asked i get her a shirt, and after all she got me in london i figured i'd try. either with my money or my dad's credit card, but the things were fucking 30 bucks. i mean what the fuck, that's twice what i paid to get into the damned place. so sadly i didn't get her anything. though i did call her halfway through so she could listen until my phone died, that's gotta mean something doesn't it?

either way i had a good time and am throughly glad i spent alll my money trying to go to it.
