"a helluva good show" @ 9.4.01
so i hauled my ass down to harrisonburg for the e: show yesterday. and it was easy driving, made it down there in an hour and a half and met up with alison, which was good.

we talked for a bit, then i went to a class with her. sweet jebus was it crazy, i mean i had never been into a huge lecture class before because well, i went to an art school, then comm. college. so no 200 person classes for me, no sir. so i walk into this class not sure what to expect, and it's gigantic, i mean huge!we sit down and start to listen to her prof's [yes plural! there were 3 professors!] ramble on about the media and it's effect on people. i have to say the stuff covered wasn't that boring at all, plus we got to watch clips from movies so it was even more non-boring. oh, i took some pretty good notes too, i wonder if alison will keep'm or just toss them?

after that we went to dinner. and again it was a madhouse, people everywhere! but apparently it wasn't normal, cause it was club-night, where all the school clubs sit outside and try to get people to sign up for their group. so everyone and their brother were outside, and then in the main dining hall getting food. but still it wasn't bad, i mean i was butt-ass-hungry so, i ate it. after that we went back to alison's suite and chilled for a bit before we decided to head out to where the show was going on.

now all the fliers said it started at 9, and that only Ki:Theory would play before them, so we figured e: would go on at 10, boy were we wrong. instead some shitty guy played from 9-10, then ki:theory from 10-11:15, then e: from 11:30-1. and well, alison and jenn [her suitemate who agreed to come down] had classes early in the morning so they couldn't even stay for the whole show, instead they left only hearing a few songs [albeit good ones] by e:. i feel bad cause they spent most of the night listening to crappy music, and then had to get a cab home because they knew i was really into e: and that i wouldn't be able to get back in after i drove 'em home.

but the really odd thing about the night, ok there were two. 1] i ended up giving craig a jersey from a football team from europe that i liked [mainly cause it has a huge VW on the front] and he looked at me and was like "wha, did i leave this at your house or something?" i was like "uh, no. it's mine, i'm givin it to you." turns out he had the same one at some point, but lost it. and he ended up wearing the thing for the night. 2] i met a friend of mine who i graudated with but haven't seen since then. ok he's not really a friend, just an associate, who i mainly associate with e: since he and i got into it at about the same time. i totally forgot he went to jmu. but it was chill to have someone there who you could sing all the words with.

finally after the whole damned show was over at 1:30 i got in my car and drove home. since alison was already alseep, and i had no where else to stay. i made it home allright, but not with a few scares where i was suddenly halfway over the right-hand white-line. but no i didn't hit anything, nor did i get arrested, i mean hell no one was friggin around me, which was the main problem.

oh, and was the show worth it to travel all them distances? hells yea, they were spot-on last night. but what was sad, the opening band ki:theory, had more people then e: did. i guess cause ki still live in harrisonburg, i dunno. either way those who left missed a helluva good show.
